FamilyLight is a consulting service for families in need of help for a family member who presents emotional and/or behavioral problems. Our "in-person" consulting service is available to families who are prepared to pay for the best services themselves and are not financially dependent on government or insurance bureaucracies. (Some of our clients do get some financial help from those services but are not totally dependent upon them) We work with those individual families providing what we believe is the most intensive hands-on service of its kind anywhere. We suspect all or nearly all therapeutic and educational consultants ("ECs") recommend schools and programs. If the names of appropriate schools and programs is the only assistance you need, you might get what you need from someone else or our online Virtual Consultant Service.
Through our Virtual Consultant Service, we also provide online support for families that want internet guidance at a radically lower cost than intensive in-person work with a consultant. We try to be objective and offer what we think is the only on-line service that lacks a financial incentive to avoid full candor. Where we have a conflict of interest, we report it.
We work with a very small number of "in person" clients and provide them what we believe is the most intensive therapeutic consulting service available. Most of our present clients rely on us heavily for guidance as they struggle with very complex problems where they need help with many more decisions than just what school or program to use. We are unaware of any other person or organization delivering that kind of service as intensively as we do. Our fees are consistent with consultants who offer much lower levels of service.

Several pages on this website tell part of the story "About" FamilyLight and Virtual Consultant. Our original expectation when we started the "New Format" of this website was that would continue the organization of the website from the old format. But as we grew, we came to realize that this organization was confusing to our readers. Our problem: if we try to re-do this completely, we break links that are important. Our solution: Create new pages where they will help to make this website more user friendly. This solution creates redundancy.
